Over the past forty years, Ben has enthusiastically assisted clients in resolving their business and personal challenges, and his firm provides a multi-arena of law specialties, including aviation cases, business matters, civil cases, criminal cases, personal injury claims, real estate issues, probate and estate planning.
NHA, PLLC’s majority shareholder is a rare bird - he really loves his job! The office bursts with pride when a client calls to say how happy he or she is with the outcome of the case. The first step, Ben says, is meeting the client, assessing the facts and taking a coarse of action.
Since 1971, Ben has enjoyed long-term relationships with his clients and their families, and NHA, PLLC is now assisting the grandchildren of some of Ben’s first clients. His favorite cases? Those that have unique issues and those that have a significant consequence for his clients. And if a case goes to trial - Ben is the first to arrive in the courtroom - sit back and watch him go!
In addition to being licensed by the State Bar of Texas since 1971, Ben is licensed to practice in the United States Supreme Court; the United States Court of Appeals and the Fifth Circuit and Federal District Court for the Southern, Western and Eastern districts of Texas. Ben is a member of the American Bar Association-Aviation Law Section, and he belongs to the Houston Bar Association. AV Preeminent rated Attorney (See video above).
Believing service to the community to be of great importance, Ben periodically accepts cases from the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program, and NHA has partnered with J. Frank Dobie High School to participate in its Business Professionals of America program. In addition, Ben was one of the founding Board members of the Texas Arrythmia Institute, and he is a member of the CPR-AED team for HARRA (Houston Area Road Runners Association) and volunteers at approximately 6 races each year. Ben has a passion for flying, and from 1980 to 1994, he commuted between his Houston and Waco offices in his Cessna 182.
Since the mid 1990s, Ben has enjoyed an adjunct faculty position teaching Aviation and the Law with Baylor University. Read more about Mr. Harvie on the Baylor website HERE. Previously, he taught Real Estate law at McLennan Community College and San Jacinto Community College, all of which fulfill his inner need to lecture.
At the invitation of the Dean of Aviation Sciences Department at Baylor, Ben was pleased to speak at the “Aviation’s Environmental Impact Conference” at the University of Florence, Fiorenze (Florence) Italia (Italy), December 2003, and he held his esteemed audience captivated by his discussion concerning the question, “Will the US and EU approach, collide, or is a resolution achievable?” His topic was described in conference literature as “an analysis of accountability and an outlook from an aviation lawyer and pilot.”
NHA, PLLC is very proud of its Majority-Shareholder, in addition to his experience and success in the practice of law, Ben is a winner. He is an internationally-ranked marathoner, and since 2006 has been a locally invited Elite Runner at the Chevron Houston Marathon. Shattering the times of 97% of all other local runners, Ben has already received an invitation to next year’s Houston Marathon! Ben loves multi-sports and has participated as a member on Team U.S.A. at the ITU World Championship - Duathlon five times. (Alpharetta, Georgia -- 2002; Alfertern, Switzerland -- 2003; Barcis, Italy -- 2005; and Cornerbrook, New Foundland, Canada -- 2006; and Rimini, Italy --2008). He loves to tri as well! NHM busted with pride when Ben successfully finished Ironman Canada in 2010.
